Who we are
AK Sturgeon Lab Ltd. is a company that is dedicated to restoring the world's resources of sturgeon, the prehistoric fish that can live up to 100 years and grow to be 140 kg. The company was established in order to start an aquaculture operation in Vancouver, BC, Canada and farm various sturgeon species for commercial production of sturgeon meat and caviar. AK Sturgeon Lab Ltd. meets Business Immigration requirements being Qualifying Canadian business and Eligible Business, and we could sell to a candidate 33 1/3% of our common full-voting shares (no a redemption option) applying the investment to the machinery, equipment and fixtures, and we would open 3 new jobs.
The principal objective of the company is to grow sturgeon with the purpose of selling meat and value-added products wholesale to the restaurants, hotels and retail stores nationwide. After 6 years, the project will enter its second stage, the objective of which is to produce, process, package, and sell caviar. The global scarcity of caviar provides a very high demand for this product and guarantees a broad market.
Business assessment.
The company assets are determined as $2,610,000.00
Process
Beginning with fertilized eggs and fry, the life cycle of sturgeon will be compressed to about 5-6 years by culture in controlled special conditions.
Initially fry will be grown for meat production at market size of 2-3 kg over the period of 30-36 months. Female candidates for caviar production will be selected from meat production stream and grown for additional 3-4 years when the females become sexually mature and produce caviar. A small select number of caviar production fish will be retained as brood- stock for further production thereby closing the biological cycle of the fish within the facility.
Facility
The facility (approximately 3 acres) is located in Vancouver, where environmental conditions are satisfactory for growing sturgeon. The project envisions gradual development of a fish production inventory of about 30 tons per year beginning from the 6th year of the project, including younger fish for meat production and selected female fish for caviar production. This inventory is capable of sustaining the production of 30 tons of sturgeon meat and 2.4 tons of caviar per year.
The physical components of the facility is a hatchery for incubation and hatching of eggs and rearing of fish fry, including circular tanks, dual drain solids management systems, bio-filtration media, carbon dioxide stripping, mechanical filtration, ultraviolet irradiation, water circulation pumps, oxygenation system, ozone treatment and feeding systems, oxygen and carbon dioxide regulation for individual tanks.
